The phrase "Catholic all-boys school" would appeal to several people as an institution where the most ideal, the most model and reputable of students and gentlemen are molded. This is of course far from the truth.
We were Catholic to the point of repressing certain ideas in favor of constant, repetitive indoctrination for a period of thirteen years. We were an all-boys school whose population consisted largely of assuming, sexually-repressed (and obsessed) alpha-males who flaunted their compensation-borne machismo. And we were a school whose initially-noble sense of pride had been twisted to fit and justify the idiocies of a delightlessly impudent student body.
